Dear readers, although I believe today is the winter solstice, for some reason that my light-deprived stultified brain cannot figure, tomorrow is the day with the least "daylight" in Berlin. That is, if less than 8 hours of this insipid gray, near-twilight state can be rightfully described as either "day" or "light". In 4 days I will be on a plane to sunny India, which is apparently launching into a heat-wave. I'll be in touch again after a few days of sun when my brain gloriously reawakens!
